Add-on units: Height? Deck SIze? Quantity?
If possible, do you want different base deck sizes on opposite sides of any islands?
Island or Wall?
How many shelves per 'face'?
An Island has 2 'faces', a wall has one.
Don't count the base deck again...they come with the units.
Size of all shelves
End caps?

Note: If you aren't too picky about size.

Be ready to adjust your size a little, if you can give or take a few inches of aisle space.
Some used brands use even sizes (12,14,16), some use odd (13,15,17).

C-Store, pharmacy sized small/medium sizes, 12"-16", are often the hardest to obtain.

Used Gondola Shelving Pennsylvania

Philadelphia , Pittsburgh , Allentown , Scranton

Used Retail Store Shelving:

There's only one (used) dealer in Pennsylvania.

Gershel Bros (website) operates out of Philadelpha, and deals with both new and used gondola.

You can fall back on dealers in Ohio, Baltimore and New Jersey.

You can also check craigslist
(website) in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown and Scanton PA.
Pennsylvania has a variety of options and nuances to consider when looking for used Gondola shelving, and they will vary a great deal depending on whether you are in the Philadelphia or Pittsburgh area.

When searching for used shelving in Philadelphia, the first consideration is proximity to giant retail markets, like Baltimore, New York and New Jersey.
While you will likely start your quest by searching craigslist for store closings in Philadelphia, you will want to expand this;  search nearby, out of state cities for liquidations.
Check the classifieds in Baltimore and other major cities...while it's always best to avoid shipping costs, purchasing out of state will nullify your sales tax...and Philadelphia is super-close to major retail activity.  There isn't a huge store fixture liquidator based in Philly, so you might have to research if you want to buy shelving from a dealer.
Although Philly is close to everything, the shipping costs can get high (per mile), especially coming from NYC.
Harrisburg, Bethlehem, Scranton and Allentown PA will all have similiar options as Philadelphia; minor variations in travel or shipping costs will be cheap.

Trying to buy used gondola in Pittsburgh can be another matter altogether.  It's a 300 miles gap between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, and that can cause changes in a purchasing strategy....there are drawbacks of being 300 miles from one of the worlds largest retail environments, but these might be outwieghed by the benefits.
As always, check you local classifieds first for stores that are going out of business, or any way you can find cheap shelving locally.  Extend your search to Cleveland and baltimore, as they will both have easy access to a major highway going to Pittsburgh.
Here's the benefit of's relatively close to Michigan, which has some prominant Used Lozier dealers and store fixture liquidators.  You won't get the same shot at a closing store as Philly, but you have some excellent dealers within reasonable shipping distance.
Erie, PA should follow Pttsburgh's battle plan, but try throwing Buffalo NY into the field.  Also, Canada is an option; tariffs can be brutal, but sometime the deal is worth it.

Here's every used pallet racking Pennsylvania dealer.
